The Azalea Coast Amateur Radio Club once again put the USS North Carolina on the air via the amateur bandwaves. A total of 534 SSB contacts were made, almost all on 20 meters. We reached 41 states, missing only HI, AK,WA, OR, ND, ID, NV, and oddly, WV and SC. We also reached 6 DX entities (Puerto Rico, Bahamas—Maritime Mobile—Bermuda, Trinidad and Tobago, England and Canada—Quebec, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and New Brunswick. In addition, 13 Ships, a Memorial and a Museum listed by the sponsor of the event, the Battleship New Jersey Amateur Radio Club, were contacted. Finally, we also contacted several Special Event Stations on the air to commemorate the 66th anniversary of D-Day, including the National Electronic Museum in Linthicum, MD and the Strategic Air Command Museum at Offutt AFB, NE.
